Pink Dress

To say that it is a fashion photography will probably make no sense. But I did take this photo as part of a shooting session for a clothing start-up. There were an awful lot of dresses to take pictures of, so we rushed and didn’t end up with a lot of good photographs.

It got to a point where we just needed to show the picture of the dress and not the model. But before that point came, we had already taken some good portraits.

This picture didn’t look anything like it after I shot it. The background had a busy scene overlooking the buildings. So I had to replace the background. It didn’t come out sharp for some reason, so I had to sharpen it up. And to make things worse, the photo was slightly underexposed. So some noise were introduced in an effort to bring up the shadows.

The picture now is still noisy, but it’s something I can live with. I took this photo close to two years ago. The raw file was just sitting on my memory card. Had I deleted that file, I wouldn’t have been able to improvise and use my newly-learned techniques to replace the background.
